According to the legend these bizarre and Sinister children usually between the ages of six and sixteen sometimes come knocking on the doors of people’s homes or around the windows of their cars in trying to gain entry.
The eyes of these kids are completely black with no discernible Scalera, Iris or pupil.
Most researchers trace the legend back to the late 1990s when a blogger Brian Bethel wrote about an alarming encounter he had with black eyed kids in 1996.
His story begins here with a knock.
“A knock at my driver side window two young boys somewhere between 9 and 12 years old and dressed and hooded pullovers stood outside my car.
I cracked the window a bit anticipating a feel for money but I was immediately gripped by an incomprehensible soul racking fear I had no idea why.”
The conversation ensued between one boy a somewhat Schwab oil skin curly-headed young man and myself. The other a red headed pale skin freckled young man stayed in the background the spokesman as I’ve come to think of him told me that he and his companions needed a ride.
Plausible enough but all throughout this exchange the irrational fear continued and grew
I had no reason to be frightened at these two boys but I was terrified and all the while the spokesman said it wouldn’t take long. They were just two little kids they didn’t have a gun or anything.
I had broken the gaze of the spokesman and something had changed and my mind exploded in the vortex of all-consuming terror.
Both boys stared at me with those coal-black eyes and I freaked out inside while trying to appear completely sane and call I made whatever excuses came to mine all of them designed to get me the hell out of there.
I wrapped my hand around the gear shift, threw the car into reverse and begin to roll up the window apologizing for all of the whiles my fear must have been evident.
The boy in the back had a look of confusion and the spokesman sharply pounded on the window I rolled up his words full of anger.
The words still ring in my head as the memory comes flooding back I can still hear him yelling “We can’t come in unless you tell us it’s okay, let us in” !!!
I drove out of the parking lot in blind fear, I stole a quick look in my rearview mirror before peeling out into the night. The boys were gone even if they had run I don’t believe there was any place that could have hidden from view that quickly.”
During my investigation, I’ve tried to find sightings before 1996 but was unable to do so.
In 2012 the horror film black-eyed kids was produced with kickstarter-funding, it’s director commenting that the black-eyed children were “an urban legend that has been floating around on the internet for years now.”
Brian Bethel paved the road for the story’s of black eyed children and I can’t help to wonder is continuing with this story to keep our mind off of something else?
Some have claimed that these are aliens, vampires, lost souls and even have gone as far as to say that these are Lucifer’s children trying to build his army.
Whatever you believe in just remember the next time you get a knock on the door, next time you get a knock on your car window and you see some children out there asking for help, you might want to think before opening the door 😉
